Trunk or Treat & Halloween!

The kids went to our wards Halloween party that was thrown by the young men and young women. They had a great time playing games and getting candy. The pictures where Kinley is a ladybug are from Halloween. It rained really hard so the kids ended up only going to a couple houses but they had a good time!

Hee Haws

We got to go on a field trip as a family with Drezden's preschool. We went to Hee Haws in Pleasant Grove and played with animals, went down big slides, conquered the corn maze, and went on a hay ride to pick pumpkins in the pumpkin patch! We had a great time:)

Drezden is back in Preschool

Drezden started his second year of preschool at the beginning of this month. The first day was a little bumpy as he had to remember how to share and get along with others. But the last two weeks he has done great! He really likes to learn and he has started to try to read. He is always asking us what words are and then he repeats the words as if he is trying to memorize them. It has been fun to see him enjoy going to school and desiring to learn.

Kyle to serve in Mexico

My little brother Kyle got his mission call to serve in Mexico! To show how proud the kids are of their uncle, I bought them these shirts during the World Cup. We are excited to pick him up at the airport and drop him off at the MTC this month. Way to go Kyle!

Soccer and Bron

We decided to try soccer for Drezden this year. Since that decision and a few games we have come to the conclusion of sticking with individual sports for him. Examples would be: tennis, wrestling and golf! In the last picture you will see him up in the air. This is him throwing a HUGE fit after someone took the ball away to which he jumped up and down kicking and screaming and ran off the field. You really should vote us as parents of the year:)
Here is Bron (BRAWN) the newest member of our family. He has grown so much and is now double the size of Nutmeg. He has such a good temperament! We took this picture in the blanket because we had lost him one night in the house. This is where he was- all blended in a brown blanket and non-responsive to the calling of his name!

Quintero Summer Cabin Vacation!

This year for the Quintero summer vacation we rented a cabin in Heber the first few days of August. We had a really great time! The kids all played well together and so did the adults:) Here was the sunset on our first night from the porch of the cabin- breathtaking!The cabin had a big loft with a pool table that the men enjoyed using. In all of my pictures everyone seems to be waiting on Joe:) You can see the view of a lake out of the window. It was gorgeous!
The cute Cook kids! The girls were so nice to Kinley. They made her beaded necklaces and bracelets. She was in Heaven!Ryan was super nice and allowed us to borrow some of his families 4-wheelers for the vacation. Here is Beky and Alex heading out on a night time ride. A tip for all of you readers: put your camera in a zipped pocket while riding on a 4-wheeler:)The cabin also had a hot tub on the deck. The kids and aunt Rachel enjoyed getting in our last day!After leaving Heber we all went to Sundance and rode the ski lift up to the top. We then hiked to Stuart falls and all the way back down to the Sundance Resort. The landscape was beautiful and the kids had a great time! I would love to do this again when I am not pregnant:)We had a great time and cant wait for next summer!

Kinley's Second Birthday!

June 2010: We celebrated Kinley's birthday this year by going to the Zoo. One of the elephants just had a baby this year and we were excited to see her. Her name is Zuri and she has a lot of energy! The kids watched her for thirty minutes playing with water and in the mud. Happy 2nd Birthday sweetheart- We love you!

New Sidewalk and Curb/ Gutter!

May 2010: After two years of complaining about our busted up sidewalk and curb/ gutter the city decided to fix it! Here are some pictures of the project while it was happening and the end result. We are very pleased with how it looks and the kids enjoy not falling off their scooters when they ride them now! The End Result:

If you look closely you can also see our new family vehicle. With baby number three on the way we decided we needed something bigger than our little car! So far we have really enjoyed the room.

Drezden's Preschool Program

Drezden finished his first year of preschool (In May- I know I am so slow!) and participated in the end of year program... I couldn't get the video to load so you will have to imagine his amazing air drum solos through out every song they sang! The cute girl to his left in the polka dot dress is Tori. She is the girl that he would always kiss at preschool... at least she is super cute:)
We are looking forward to another year of preschool this coming school year (2010- 2011).

I have not kept my new years resolution to update the blog more... sorry! My little boy turned 4 in March and is growing up so fast! He loves to play legos, video games, and ride his scooter. Here are some pictures of his big day!

It has been so nice to have the basement finished! We absolutely love the space and the "new" smell! I am so thankful that I have a husband that can create awesome spaces!

Here are some pictures from Easter this year. This is the first year that we have done Easter baskets for the kids when they have woke up Easter morning. It was really fun to see their faces.

Project Completion!

Well the basement is completely finished (minus painting all of the doors which we will do when it is warmer outside). If you were wondering if we finished in plenty of time the answer would be no! We were still working on sanding, filling in holes, and cleaning when the carpet arrived to be installed on Monday morning:) Here are some pics- tell me what you think!

Here is a picture after we put up the Sheetrock on the wall, put in the lights, insulated the ceiling, and our attempt at putting up the ceiling- just the two of us:)

Here are pictured of the ceiling and the walls after James textured them and we painted them. We also put up all new baseboards and trim around the doors/ openings.

Construction

We have been quite busy with projects going on at our house! James finished a room in the basement for his office and it looks awesome! We also textured and painted the kitchen. The current project is called: Family Room Haul-Over 2/10. We have ripped down a wall (pinching a water line- yay!) and the entire ceiling down of the family room in our basement. Our current status on this project is putting in recessed lighting, re-sheet rocking the walls that were torn down and the ceiling, painting the whole room, getting cabinets, and new carpet! All hopefully done this month:) If anyone would like to help, feels they need a little extra service in their portfolio or what have you, we will take any service givers:) Here are some pictures of our "Organized Chaos!"

What a great year this has been for us! We have had a lot of great things happen (James started his own company) as well as some not so great things (James appendix ruptured), but the good news is that we survived! We had a wonderful Christmas and I think James and I were more excited about the kids' presents than they were! Here is the tree on Christmas Eve:

We feel so blessed especially at this time for all of our blessings. We really tried to focus on the birth of our Savior for all of our Family Home Evenings this past month. We watched the DVD Joy to the World which is such a great video produced by the church.

Here are some pics of the kids on Christmas. James ended up scoring a -15 degree sleeping bag for his winter camp outs with the first one coming up next weekend and a new ladder! I scored a kitchen aid mixer that I am so excited about and an awesome 'Family' sign for my living room from my friend Joanna! We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!

Drezden and the Holy Ghost

Yesterday Kayla was watching the kids for us so that we could run and do some last minute shopping. When we got home she told us about Drezden. Here is the story: Drezden asked Kayla for a candy cane. Kayla said, "You need to ask your mom when she gets home." Drezden walks into his room and then walks out of his room to find Kayla. He finds Kayla and says, "Kayla, I talked to the Holy Ghost and he said I could have the candy cane!"

What a spiritual powerhouse wouldn't you say? :)

I have been so bad at keeping up on the blog this summer! By the way- where did the summer go?! There is so much to catch up on!!! So here goes a long post with some pictures- brace yourselves!

First off, James and I celebrated 5 years this summer! I am so in love with my man- he is awesome! We took a trip to New York the end of August. James went for business and I went for sight seeing! It was so much fun. I came back with some really cute purses. We ate at a yummy BBQ place that had a whole rack of ribs for $11! I was in heaven:)

Drezden started Preschool this year. The first two days he screamed for me to stay but then stopped crying the second he couldn't see me. The teachers say he is doing great and so I am so thrilled! Kinley and I enjoy our time together while he is gone and then we both get so excited to go and pick him up! I didn't cry on the first day I dropped him off until I got back to my car. It was the first day of the next 20+ years of his life! Here is a pic of what he looked like when we picked him up- what a stud!!!

Kinley decided to have her teeth all grow in at the same time. She just cut 6 teeth over the past month! She is such a good sport. I can't imagine how horrible that would feel but she stays in good spirits overall. She really likes to annoy Drezden any way she can. She knows the right buttons to push at any given minute to make him mad. The end result is usually both of them crying so you would think she would learn.... :)

I am back to teaching. I wasn't able to get into my classroom until about 3 days before school started due to construction. It is all set up now and I really like how it looks. My students are also amazing and I think it will be a great year!

I also went on a fun little weekend retreat with some friends this summer. We went up to a cabin that was gorgeous and played games and ate yummy steaks and treats! It was so fun to get a big group of amazing ladies together and act like little girls- complete with screaming and jumping when we saw a little baby mouse!!! Thanks again ladies for the fun weekend!

James started his own business this summer. He started a company specializing in graphic design and translation services. The name of his company is Global Q. I think it is catchy:) He loves being his own boss and has done really well! He is always working so hard and doesn't have a lot of free time. Starting a business is hard work! I love that he is such a great provider for our family.

We have been working on some projects around our house. We just got the fascia, soffit, and gutters put on and it looks amazing!!! Yay for gutters that catch rain:) We have also worked on the shed some more. All of the tools finally have a place where they belong. We have been trying to keep up with our garden all summer... I have canned a lot of salsa!! I have also ate more zucchini this summer than I have ever ate in all my life!!!! We had a zucchini grow to be the size of Kinley! We named him Sasquatch and he stayed on our table for about a month before we gave him a way.

AND THE BIG NEWS OF THE SUMMER........ Drezden is potty trained completely including at night!!!! One day a switch was flipped and he decided he wanted to go potty like a big boy. It is amazing!!!! He is so awesome and we are so proud of him. He has started praying by himself and I love to hear what he prays for. Usually it is to go to his cousin Andy's house or his friend Leighton's house, or for transformers, or to go to the park! He loves to read The Book of Mormon (or rather look at the pictures while we read)! He is growing up so fast!!

I am sure that I am missing many important and pivotal experiences of our summer. I will try and be better as I update more frequently throughout this year. We hope everyone is happy and healthy! We love you guys:)

Kinley is 1 today! I cant believe how quickly a year goes by. She is now walking all over the house and she is such a happy little girl. We love her tons and are so happy she is a part of our family:) Happy Birthday little Princess!

Colorado

Well we had a fun and exciting weekend. We went out to Dinosaur, Colorado which is 3 miles over the Utah border. We went out to work off our debt for our puppy- yeah I said puppy!!! Her name is Nutmeg and she is so cute! My step-mom's cousins dog had puppies and my step mom got one and so did we! James helped with some home improvement projects and I just played:) Drezden LOVED seeing all of the dinosaurs. It was really fun to see everyone minus Jer and his family:( Here are some pics from the weekend.

Kinley Walks / Drezden walks in boots!

It has been pretty eventful at our house the past few weeks! Lets start at the beginning...

James tore down our old shed and built a new one. It is not completely finished yet (still needs the roof, siding and door) but he is getting closer. Look at the steps he has done- isn't he amazing?!

We got our flower beds in the front all put in- most of the flowers are in bloom now since this picture is a few weeks old but what do you think?

Here is a video of Kinley walking. She can stand up in the middle of the room and just start going. She hasn't quite perfected it yet but she claps after she walks or stands up- it is so cute:) Her birthday is coming up on the 19th (Happy Birthday to Joanna that day too!) and she will be one already. Her bottom two teeth are up and she looks like a cute little cabbage patch doll!

As you can see by the pictures- Drezden enjoys boots. I catch him daily in his snow boots (always with out pants for some reason!) and if he cant find his snow boots he puts my boots on! He is such a character and is talking all the time! He loves big boy underwears but doesn't like to go to the bathroom in the big boy potty- what gives??!?!

James also finished the fence complete with a 7 foot gate. It looks awesome and Drezden loves playing outside. He got this swing set for his birthday and he loves swinging, sliding, and jumping!
Kayla and Sarah both graduated from American Fork High School! Here are a few pics of the girls from the ceremony.

My mom came up for Kayla's graduation. We love when she visits and Kinley formed a special bond with her real quick. Here is a picture of them snuggling. We miss and love you grandma!

Long Post....

A lot has been happening at our house! First of all, our laptop got a virus. We had to blast the computer and lost all of our programs and so I have not been able to upload pictures or videos. We finally restored everything to somewhat of its original state and so I am able to blog again- yay!

James finished the fence. I wish I would have got a before picture but this one is 400% better that what was up when we moved in. I love it! James is also going to build a gate in front of where we park our cars so that our backyard will be fully fenced and Drezden can play outside!

With that, we got a screen door on the back of the house. I love letting more light in during the day! I just love sunshine:)

We also bought and planted some trees in our backyard. We already had the Rose of Sharon's but we transplanted them and put them all together. I cant wait to see everything in bloom:)

After three tries of getting the paint color right we are finished! I still have some touch up work to do but for the most part we are done painting for a long time. We did a tan color on the walls and down the hallway. I have one red wall in my front room and it is awesome! Tell me what you think. The temple picture was my birthday present from James and the kids this year. I think it is so beautiful. I love it on the red wall.

We also chipped out the tiled window sill and replaced it with wood. We framed in the window as well and then got 1 (yes just 1 not 2 that dont match) blind. It looks awesome! It is hard to get a good picture because of the light but I love it.

I finally finished Kinley's letters and got them put up in her room. I think they turned out pretty cute. I love her little shelves that her daddy hung up too!

James went to New York on a business trip for a few days last week. While he was gone Kinley ended up with an ear infection and Drezden got the stomach flu. Lets just say it was a CRAZY week!

Drezden is still not wanting to potty train:( We have tried and tried so we are going to take a break until summer. Maybe he will be ready by then. I signed him up for preschool and so we have to get it done this summer. He can say his full name (first and last) and some of his friends names too... here is a cute little video.

Other than that, we are wanting to get our garden planted but with this snow today.... the days are getting pushed farther back. James will be starting his "building the shed" project soon and so more pictures will follow. We hope everyone is having a wonderful Spring season:)What is with the crazy snow in APRIL!!!!

Kayla has less wisdom!

That is right- Kayla got her wisdom teeth removed this past Friday. She did amazing. The more time I spend with her the more I have grown to love and respect her. It takes a lot to move away from home with out your parents for your Senior year and she has done amazing! I tried to get some pictures but she threatened me so I passed...! Hopefully in days to come she will want to eat more that just ice cream:) Love ya little sis!

In other news- James and I both went to the dentist last week- James has 6 cavities (some needing root canals) and I have 12 (4 needing root canals). What is in this Utah water?!?! If anyone is feeling extremely wealthy you are encouraged to donate money to the James and Tiffany Dental fund:)

Drezden is 3!!! We have had an eventful weekend. It all started in the middle of last week with all 5 of us getting sick! What are the odds? We were able to spend some quality time out in the sun on Saturday working in the yard. Today we all woke up with nasty coughs and runny noses so we stayed home from church:( Drezden was so sad to miss nursery especially on his birthday! We had some cake today and Drezden opened his presents. Happy Birthday bud- you are the best!!!

Kinley crawls/ Drezden recycles

Kinley is crawling! We feel like parents of their first child when they crawl- we have taken pictures, videos, etc. Drezden went straight to walking and so we are so excited to experience the crawling stage of development:) Sorry the video is sideways- I keep forgetting to hold the camera straight!

Drezden went to nursery (which he is doing awesome in!) and was blowing some bubbles. He turned the bubble container upside down (after it was empty) and saw the recycle sign and told the nursery leaders to recycle the bottle! They all thought that was pretty cute. Thank you Curious George!

In other news, we textured our front room and will soon be painting. I will post before and after pictures next week when it is done. (I say next week but it might be next month...)

Drezden's birthday is next Sunday and we are excited for him to turn three. He is growing up so fast and he can run really fast too- everyone was laughing at me at the mall chasing him running as fast as he could:)

Christmas came and went!

I can't believe Christmas came and is gone. It always goes way too fast! We had a great time at my grandpa's house complete with Swedish pancakes on Christmas morning. My parents surprised my grandpa and brought fresh shrimp up with them from the gulf! We were probably the only family in the Uintah Basin eating fresh shrimp on Christmas day:) It was yummy!

Here is a cute video I took of Drezden today. He was so tired from waking up this morning at 6am and just couldn't stay awake. I am sorry that you hear me laughing... I just couldn't hold it in. He would actually laugh and smile but he was so out. Too dang cute:)

Christmas in 15 days!

It seems that I am having a hard time lately keeping my blog updated! You must be thinking her house is probably clean- nope! I am astounded at how quickly the days go by. I am amazed at all of you mothers out there that actually get projects done. If I am not holding Kinley, I am helping Drezden, or helping Kayla with her various projects. One day I will be able to complete a project right? :) I just feel accomplished to still be standing and have the house look somewhat acceptable when James gets home at the end of the day!

A lot has been happening in our family. We got our Christmas tree on black Friday- smokin' deal that we woke up at 3:30 am for at Home Depot! We have it all decorated and it looks awesome! I love Christmas:)

Thanksgiving was great. We ate a lot of great food and James had a great time playing football ALL morning! He loves playing sports with his brothers, dad, and friends. What a great tradition. Pretty soon Drezden will be out there playing- but only if it is flag or touch football- I am going to be one of those protective moms I am afraid!

Drezden has taken up painting. He loves it! He asks to paint everyday and he is getting better at staying in the lines.

Kinley has started eating solid foods. She loves oatmeal the best but she will accept sweet potatoes, squash, pears, and prunes.

This morning I was taking pictures of Kinley and Drezden yells to me- "Mom! come look and take a picture!" This is what I saw when I walked in the kitchen! He has such great talent!

Finally- I know that it is hard to see- but this is an outfit I bought for Kinley before she was born. It has green pants with white polka dots and on the shirt it says 'Pretty Girl' with little bees and flowers. I love it and have been checking everyday to see if it would fit and today was that special day:)

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas. It gets busy with all the tasks that need to be done before the special day, but we encourage you to take a step back even if just for a minute and thank our Father in Heaven for the best gift we have ever received- our Savior. We love all of you!

Halloween

This post has been long overdue. We have been so busy that it is amazing to have this moment to update our blog. Kinley is growing like a weed. She loves oatmeal and sweet potatoes! Drezden is jumping off of everything and running around "super fast"! Here are some pics from Halloween. We couldn't get Drezden to dress up so he went in basketball sweats with a hard hat and a wrench! "Sporty Bob the Builder". Kayla took him trick-or-treating and by the last three houses he knew what was going on! Now every time someone knocks he yells, "Trick or Treat!!!"
Kayla had Preference this last week. She looked AWESOME and wore a dress that I wore in high school! It was fun to help get her ready and she had such a great time. Her date looked awesome too- they are so cute together!

Everything Kinley!

Kinley's room is FINALLY finished:) It looks awesome- I am so excited to get her crib set up and start decorating! Here is a "in the process pic" and a "completed" pic! (You might have to click on them to see the details!)

Kinley had her 3 month appointment. She weighs in at 12 pounds 12 oz. Drezden weighed this exact same weight but a 2 months! Check out his picture- I love it:) I really do produce cream or something...

Growing Up!

Our little kids are growing up so fast! I keep telling Kinley that she is my baby and needs to slow down so that I can enjoy it!! We have had quite the projects going on around here! My little sister (picture above) came to live with us for this year and so we got her room ready and we are trying to fix up the bathroom downstairs. By fix up I mean that all of the walls, ceiling, and fixtures were torn out of it and we are putting it back together. Special thanks to James' brother Alex for all of his help- we couldn't do it without you:) Here is a pre picture- with hopefully a post picture to come soon.

We have also been working on Kinley's room and hope to have it finished this week as her crib is in the front room for the moment... Pictures to come soon!

Here are some pictures of the growing kids! We took Drezden to the pool for the first time this summer (I know we are horrible parents!) and he LOVED it! Check out the look on his face- so excited.

Other than that we are busy with life and trying to keep up with the kids and both of our jobs. We love our new home and the space that we have! Funny story- I bought a couch (off of Craigslist of course- to which I am truly addicted!) for downstairs because the camping chairs just weren't cutting it anymore. Well we get the couch home and low and behold we cant get it down the stairs (it is too big). So my couches that were upstairs are now downstairs and we have a different couch upstairs with the recliner. We really like the couches downstairs to sit on and I have already taken a few naps down there:)

Kinley turned 4 weeks old today- where does the time go? We moved into our house on the 4th of July- nothing like moving on a Holiday! Thank you to all the family and friends that helped us move- we couldn't have done it without you!

I decided to update the blog due to the many requests for more pictures:) Kinley is such a great baby- she eats well and poops really well! She is so fun to have around and sleeps a lot! Drezden loves her and asks where the baby is at if he can not see her at every minute!

She is here! Kinley Londyn Quintero arrived safe and sound! 6 lbs 12 oz and 19.5 inches long. She has a full head of dark beautiful hair and she is gorgeous! I am trying to recover- it is not as easy bouncing back after number 2 I have found! We will post more later.

Anniversary and Tag!

Monday marked James and I's 4th wedding anniversary! 4 Years and still going strong:) He surprised me by having orange roses (my favorite!) delivered to which I started crying... I think it is the pregnancy hormones! We finished off the evening by enjoying a gourmet subway sandwich- nothing else sounded good!

In baby news, it could be any day! I go and see my doctor this week and he will tell me to either wait it out or head to the hospital- I am hoping for the last option:) We are excited to get this little girl here!

Sleepy Head

Drezden spent the day with his buddy Parker yesterday while I had to go to a conference in Salt Lake. He was having so much fun that he couldn't take time to sleep- in a normal position! He fell asleep eating his snack at the dinner table in a chair- take a look!

Last week James laid down on the floor and Drezden laid next to him and was out in 1 minute. You would think this kid doesn't get enough sleep! 10pm-8am (10 hours) at night must not be enough:)

In baby news, it looks like next week will be the week! My mom gets here mid-week and then we will go from there... if I make it that long! Here is a picture of my HUGE belly! (That is for you Kels!) We will keep you posted when this little girl gets here!

Turtles and Tractors!

So Drezden's favorite word is "tutal" (turtle)! He loves talking about turtles and pointing them out in movies, and even wearing them on his pajamas! Here is a pic of the stud wearing his "geentutal" pajamas!

We went out to my Grandpa Mitchell's house for Memorial Day and Drezden found a new toy- a big red tractor! He kept playing with all of the gadgets and turning the steering wheel. It took James about 20 minutes to try and get him down! He also kept my grandpa on the move by lifting and lowering his electronic recliner about 50 times!

In baby news, my blood pressure was pretty high at my last appointment so we might be seeing this little girl sooner than expected! We are very excited and want her to come when she is ready:)

After graduating, James got a job in Lindon with a company that is close by! We are very excited and he starts working next week. We will hopefully be putting an offer on a house soon and can get all of our stuff out of storage and multiple peoples garages...:)

He is Official!

James graduated today with his Bachelors of Science degree in Business with an emphasis in International Business from Utah Valley University! The day finally arrived and was very enjoyable! I am so thankful for a hardworking husband- I couldn't ask for better! Here is the handsome stud in his cap and gown!

We ended up going to Cabella's this afternoon. Drezden and I had never been and so we thought it would be a fun adventure! Drezden loved the fish and all of the animals. Here is a funny picture of the 2 explorers of the "wild"!

The day was completed by some shopping, yard work, and a nice and relaxing foot soak for the new college graduate! (of course Drezden wanted to put his feet in too!)

I will be done teaching the end of May and then we will all have a nice and relaxing summer vacation complete with a new family member! I have 9 weeks to go and we are getting more and more excited:)

Project Time

James has been helping his brother Alex make some book shelves for his house and decided he needed a new toy... or a few I should say as the project has gone on:) He found an awesome deal at Home Depot for a "chop saw table" and so they set to the task of setting it up. Drezden was there of course as daddy's little helper and the next day enjoyed playing with the Styrofoam- enjoy the pictures!

Drezden is quite the photographer lately and if he finds a camera will take pictures of basically anything. It is really fun to watch him develop and grow.

As for baby news, we are in the third trimester! 12 weeks to go but I am definitely not counting down... as it is getting closer the thoughts of no sleep and postpartum recovery doesn't sound fun! All worth it though when you get to hold that little baby:) We hope you are all well and enjoying the beautiful spring weather.

Drezden is 2!

Well we have had quite an exciting week at our house! Drezden turned 2 on Saturday (March 15th) and we have been celebrating all week! We went to the Hogle Zoo with his friend Sophia on Tuesday, went to the park multiple times, and had a small BBQ on Saturday with some family and friends. It has been great! James and I can hardly believe that we have a 2 year old! Where does the time go?

James is on the countdown to graduation! He will be completely finished on April 25th and is very excited! And then there will be a Master's program some time in the future... but until then- a break!

New Haircut!

We have been letting Drezden's hair grow out since last summer and I was ready to give him a haircut! Luckily for him he looks so cute with both long and short hair:) It was quite the adventure with James holding him while I tried to maneuver the clippers over his hair! I cant believe how grown-up he looks! In other news, we can not get this kid to keep his clothes on! If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate them:) I have thought about safety pinning his shirt to his pants but this kid is too smart and I worry about him hurting himself.... He managed to turn off the furnace at a house we went and looked at today! At the last house we looked at he found a wrench, walked over the the main water valve and tried to turn it off! I can honestly say that I hope having a little girl in the house will help mellow him out:) Yeah right- who am I kidding!

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! We have had such a great day already! I woke up this morning and made some Swedish Pancakes with fresh strawberries for the family, then got some laundry done, went to the ultrasound appointment, had some yummy lunch, and Drezden and I are about to take a nap!
So I am sure that most of you have skimmed down to reading just this part;) It looks like we will be having a perfect little girl joining our family! James and I are so excited! Drezden doesn't quite get it yet- but I am sure he will as soon as he sees her:) It looks like we will need to invest in some dolls and hair bows and less hot wheels and sports balls;)

Her name will be Kinley Londyn Quintero unless we have some sort of vision or dream that it should be something else!

Since Drezden turned 22 months old, he has been in to everything! He is such the climber now and knows exactly what to do to get in trouble! We always know when he is in trouble because we hear the famous and gut wrenching words, "UH OH!" Last night James and I were working on unloading some groceries and checking our email and Drezden came into the room looking VERY different! At first I couldn't tell what he had done and then I got a closer look- what do you think he got into?

That is not blush if you are wondering- it is LIPSTICK! My only guess as to why he would put it on his cheeks would be that he was trying to put on football paint under his eyes?! After finding the culprit and investigating the crime done, we got this response:

Which I decode as meaning- "I don't want to go to time out mom!" It is a good thing that we love him so much... especially after trying to get lipstick out of the carpet, computer chair, his clothes, and off of his face:)

Here is his newest stunt of climbing whatever he can! I don't think there is any doubt that this little kid is all boy!

Survey Time!

We ended up going to the doctor yesterday morning because I had a sore throat and high fever. After a few tests we found out that I have strep:( I am doing better today after getting an antibiotic and some rest. The trick now is to not pass it to James and Drezden! The good news is that we scheduled our ultrasound and will find out on Valentine's day if this little one is a boy or girl! Please take the survey at the right for fun (Gender of baby #2) and the results will be posted on the 14th!

Is it done snowing yet?! I went into Wal-mart today with the weather dry and cold and came out to a blizzard! Of course Drezden did not have on a jacket (trying to get that kid to wear a jacket is like trying to get me excited about a root canal!) so I put my jacket over his head and ran out into the snow with short sleeves on! I am sure we were quite a sight to see. Here is a picture of our driveway and you can see how hazy it is from the blowing wind.

My friend Kelsey sent me the cutest Valentines present! (Thanks again Kels!) She sent popcorn hearts with candy to decorate them. Drezden and I had quite the experience today! Every time I would put on a candy and turn to get another one he would take it off and eat it! After saying "No!" so many times, he just picked up the whole heart and started munching! He loves popcorn:) We made some for the little neighbor girls and for some others. He decorated Grandpas all by himself with "geen" things. Every color is green today!

On a sad note, Prophet Gordon B. Hi nckley passed away yesterday. I love this man! He always had a way of speaking directly to me without saying my name. As James and I heard the news yesterday, I couldn't stop thinking about the glorious reunion that must have taken place in Heaven. I can imagine our Father in Heaven saying, "Well done my faithful servant. Thank you." He will truly be missed.

Tonight while Drezden was eating his dinner, I was working on writing a shopping list to take to the store tomorrow. He informed me he needed more juice, to which I got up and got him some. While I was up, he managed to get the marker I was using and not only colored his high chair but also his face. I wasn't worried about it because I figured it would be washable. HA! My little boy is going to have blue lips for a few days! Oh well- it is pretty cold here- today the high was 30 degrees. I keep a blanket in my car now it is so cold. It seems that it never heats up until right when I get to the store to get out! Here are some pics of the Blue Boy!

Christmas was very fun and exciting this year! Drezden was so fun to watch as his eyes lit up with every present he opened. For some of the presents he would stop and play with them before moving on! He even tried to put on his new clothes before going to the next gift- what a champ! Thank you so much to family and friends for your fun gifts- he loves all of them!

We are getting excited for the new year. Personally I am just excited that James has more time off to be at home before his crazy LAST semester starts! For those of you who haven't heard the news- we are expecting again this summer! We are very excited to add another member to this crazy family! We also plan to buy a home this year after James graduates and we find out where we will be living.

We hope the new year brings much happiness, success, and love to all of you:)

Santa!

We went to our ward Christmas Party tonight and had a great time. Drezden wanted to run all over the stage and under the tables- so I definitely got my exercise in for the day! He got his picture with Anna (Santa) and was more worried about the candy cane he gave him than smiling for the camera!
During dinner they had some ballroom dancers preform for entertainment. After each person danced Drezden would clap and either yell "Yeah" or "Ah Man!" It was really funny. He learned how to be a critic from watching Dancing with the Stars I am sure:)

James is relieved to be done with his classes for this semester and found out that he passed all of them with good grades! Hooray- 1 semester left! As for me- I teach one more class tomorrow and then have Christmas Break until January 4th.

We hope each of you have a fun, happy, and safe Holiday and we will post some pictures of Christmas next week. That is if Drezden has any left to open- at the rate he is going he might not. He is definitely my child and likes to know what he is getting before Christmas!

Welcome to December!

Drezden woke us up this morning at 5:30 am and to our surprise - tons of snow! As you can see by the picture- it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas:)

Because Drezden woke up at 5:30 am- he fell asleep multiple times throughout the day. In the picture below, he literally just fell over on the couch and was out! His dad was also sleepy....

Drezden has been so funny lately. After he does something or after something happens he says, "Ah Man!" For example, when he woke up this morning and saw the snow he said, "Ah Man!" He has mastered a lot of animal sounds too. Our favorite being the answer to what an elephant says. He pushes his lips together and blows really hard! It is adorable.

He loves the "Baby Movie" (Ice Age) and Lilo and Stitch. He would watch them all day if we would let him. He loves to say Elmo. Whenever he sees Elmo, Nemo, or Lilo- he points and says Elmo! It must be one of those combo words!

We are getting excited for Christmas! The tree is decorated, the stockings aren't quite finished...! Soon:) We hope that ya'll have a great Holiday Season.

James turned 26 last week!! Thank you to all of the family and friends that called, sent cards, took us out to eat, etc.! He had a great birthday and already "feels old!"

We went and took our family pictures for our annual Christmas cards on Saturday. Trying to get Drezden to hold still long enough to take a picture was a challenge! The photographer was trying to get him to keep his hands crossed and so James and I told him to fold his arms. Well, not only did he fold his arms, he bowed his head and closed his eyes too! Definitely not conducive to a taking pictures! It was so cute though- one of those sweet cherished moments.

Ghost and goblins- what a sight:) Drezden officially carved his first pumpkin! He wasn’t quite sure what to think of the goop and seeds so he just put them on the newspaper and pretended they weren’t there!

We are not going to dress up this year. Drezden is still pretty young and none of us need the candy! Next year I am sure he will understand more and want to dress up. Instead we are going to answer the door and see all of the cute neighbor kids dressed up in their costumes!

F.Y.I.: Taking someone’s pumpkin off of their porch and smashing it in the street is against the law! I had a juvenile parole officer visit my class and she informed my students of this. To which the reply was, "The law doesn’t want anyone to have fun!"

Let it Snow...

Well the weather outside is frightful! It has snowed!!! I posted some fun pictures of the snow while falling and then what outside looked like in the morning. Drezden didn't know what to think about it- he just kept saying, "Oh!"

Drezden's newest thing that he loves is apples! I put a picture of him tackling an apple all by himself! He also really likes the little neighbor girl Hannah, and every time I turn around he is hugging and kissing her- what a ladies man! He is also into the kick of "Myself" which translates into, "Don’t help me, I can do all by myself!" As you can see in the picture, he ate or tried to eat the yogurt all by himself!

James and I are doing well trying to balance work, school, and Drez. I must say that I really enjoy my job! I have some great kids in my classes and I look forward to teaching them everyday. James really enjoys his job as well and is excited for the quickly passing weeks that will take him to graduation.

We hope that you are all doing well. I am getting so excited for the Holidays coming up. We are already half way finished with our Christmas shopping! If anyone knows where to find a Little Tykes Basketball Hoop/Stand toy please let me know. We are going to try and channel Drezden's love for throwing things towards a net!

Mr. Silly

Ok. Drezden is OBSESSED with our neighbor’s dog! He seriously sits at the door and yells dahdah....dah dah....(dog dog) on and on and on until someone finally opens the door and he scoots down the steps and walks over to the fence to see the dog. The dogs name is Silly and he is really good with Drezden. Drezden bent over to pick up a rock the other day and Mr. Silly licked Drezden's head- he laughed so hard!

It was really cold on Saturday here- cold enough to put on winter coats and watch the snow. Yup- I said snow! I started reading a book in the morning and finished at midnight Saturday night. I hate starting books because I have no self control to stop reading and put them down. It was the perfect weather to read in- snuggled up with a blanket.For those of you wondering, the book was Twilight. If you haven’t read it you really should (Mom- yours is coming for Christmas:)) It took me 9 hours to read the 500 page book and I couldn’t even sleep when I was done because I was still thinking about it!

I posted some pictures of Drezden in his coat, Mr. Silly, and Drezden taking off his shirt- a great new habit that he learned and thinks is so cool! Christmas is only 2 1/2 months away- can you believe it is already October?!? We love you guys:)

Drezden's Favorite Things

I have been able to capture some of Drezden's favorite things on camera so I thought I would share... These past 18 months have been so fun and he is becoming his own little person with each new day.

Drezden loves to:

Scowl! He makes his eyebrows come down over his eyes. He will do it to us or to things that he trips on or makes him mad!
Blow kisses! This one is my favorite- Picture 1. He blows one everyday to James as he leaves for work.
Wear shoes. He is obsessed with wearing shoes whether they are his or someone else’s. See picture 3- he is wearing moms flip flops!
Play the keyboard with Grandpa Quintero. This is a daily occurrence and they really jam! Picture 2.
Watch curious george with Grandpa Q. Picture 4. He records it everyday so they can watch it together! Drezden lasts about 10 minutes!
Balloons. Everywhere we go he seems to find balloons and he gets so excited! We went to James work party last month and there was a balloon artist that made Drezden a dahdie (doggie) with floppy ears. picture 5. Unfortunately it didnt make it home... or last 15 minutes for that matter. Good thing I got a picture!
To talk. He is saying all kinds of words such as airah (sarah), midahl (michael), dahdie (doggie) , balloo (balloon), shoe, dink (drink), etc.
To throw things. This just shows that he is all boy! Unfortunately, it hurts and he gets put in time out!

James has started school again and is finding it challenging to balance family, full time school, and full time work. He is doing a great job and really enjoys where he works and what he does.

My classes are very interesting. The kids are so great and have a lot to offer... if only I could speak spanish and communicate with some of them. Why didn’t I pay attention in high school??!?! We hope you all are well:)

Graduation

Well the day has finally arrived. I graduated from BYU this past Friday! I received my Bachelors of Science Degree in Secondary Education in the field of Family and Consumer Sciences! I am teaching part-time this coming school year at Lakeridge Junior High in Orem. I start on Tuesday- yikes!

In family news: Alex and Hillary closed on their new home this last weekend and it is beautiful! Ruth delivered a beautiful baby girl: Talia Daphne Gordy. Kyle blessed the sacrament in Spanish, and James starts his last year of school on Wedensday.

We feel very blessed as a family. We hope all of you that are in school have a great year learning and accomplish the goals that you have set for yourselves. We love you:)

Houston, Texas

Hey all! We are having a blast down here in the hot summer sun! We have enjoyed visiting with family, going to the beach, and going to an Astro's game and they actually won!!!

Drezden's first beach experience was really fun for him. He enjoyed running out into the waves and then coming back onto the shore to work on his sand castle.

The Astro’s game ended up going into the 10th inning with a score of 1-1 against the Chicago cubs. In the bottom of the 10th, with 2 outs, and a runner on third base, Bruntlet hit a ball and got the runner in to home plate to end the game with an Astro’s win!

Joe celebrated his 62nd birthday down here with us and we had an awesome dinner with this yummy cake!

We will be heading home on Wednesday and get into SLC around 3:30pm. Our vacation has been a blast! Back to school, work, and life!

Austin, Texas

Well we made it to Austin after a crazy flight. Drezden did really well considering he loves to run around! We got to the hotel and found out that we had to wait to check in so we decided to go and visit some family.

We went and took out James' Grandma and Aunt to Ryan’s- an awesome Texas restaurant! We then went back to the hotel to check in and went swimming as you can see in the pictures! The next day we went out to breakfast at a Mexican Restaurant called Casa Garcias. Michael ate some cow stomach and James and I stayed with the normal breakfast selections.

We made it down to the University of Texas campus and got some awesome gear. We "bleed burnt orange!" We then went out with some of my very best friends from High school and ate some more Mexican:) I am sad that I didn’t get any pictures but it was awesome and so good to see Kelsey, Chuck, and Becca again.

We finished up our vacation in Austin by going to Ihop with the family, hitting up some really sweet brand new outlets, and then headed to Houston on the toll road. We made it into H-town and played hours of guitar hero, saw the Bourne Ultimatum- really good movie!, and are headed to sleep at this moment!

To Texas we all go...

Hi All! We thought we better join the blogging world as to not be left behind... plus it is easier to post pictures this way:)

We just moved from our apartment in Provo up to American Fork. We are all moved but unpacked is a different story!

We are headed to Texas on August first. We will be leaving at 4am! That will be a blast with Drezden.... We fly into Austin and will be going to San Antonio and then on to Houston.

Tomorrow is my last day of college... I will be a BYU graduate! James graduates next April and it will be adios to school for now...
